How is Periodontitis Treatment?

  • The first step of the treatment is the removal of hard deposits on the teeth by our doctor.  In order for the treatment to be successful, you will be taught how to clean the disease-causing microbial dental plaque with the right technique with a brush and dental floss.  This treatment will be enough for simple gingivitis.
  • In more severe infections, periodontal surgical procedures are performed during local anesthesia and in some cases, in which auxiliary biomaterials (such as bone powder, and membrane) are used to treat enlarged and retracted gingiva, cavities and bone resorption due to bone resorption.  In addition, when necessary, enlarged gums are removed with laser painlessly, without bleeding and stitches.
  • After all these treatments, the maintenance of the patient's gingival health is checked for certain periods. The frequency with which the patient will be checked depends on the severity and condition of the disease. The patient should regularly brush and floss daily. Also, this will be re-evaluated during the patients examine. Last but not least, the success of gingival treatment is directly related to the patient's compliance and motivation to the treatment
